Vote for modes (CF)

Postby exortas » Tue Jul 05, 2011 6:00 am

Since we expect a quite large number of participants from different communities we know, that most of them are used to different modes. Here I ask you to vote for the most suitable mode for you and maybe write some of your own ideas.

Don't forget that even with game up for one win, the whole tourney for at least 4 teams takes approximately 3 hours to complete.
Finals will be up to two wins.

I figure you should all know this by now but I'm guessing you don't...

As Vampirrr mentioned in another post, when you use -dr there is no need to use -ur because draft races automatically make it unique as well.

With that aside, I'm not sure of the tournament rules for the new season but basing a match-up on a single win doesn't seem very fair for either team. I understand that with -dr your team can have premeditated strategies, etc. allowing a better, more competitive match-up.

I also talked with you before through forums and you mentioned maphackers being the reason you don't -fow. The best reason I have heard for not using -fow was because of some interference with the games mechanics itself, still mediocre in my personal opinion.

I voted for new modes (with reason):

-dr2 -slb -ca -ban1 -fow

I feel that if a team wins 2 rounds as opposed to 1, it would better judge the better players of that particular match-up. I also feel as an American player, that the element of surprise (or anticipating what your opponents' next moves will be) by using -fow is a much better judge of skill level in the end.

Clan TnT is on board to participate in your worldwide tourneys and I'm sure Clan cfi (Europe) will find it fun as well.

Good luck :)

Agree with Kron. -slt much better than -slb because air doesnt tends to fly over mid every time its come out, so pudge wouldnt become useless against air. And also -slb confuse a bit)

-dr2/-pr2 (1 raund isn't enough)
-fow (100%must be)
-slt is better then slb because of air traces
-ban (isn't necessary but the strongest races will be banned and game will be more interesting and varied)
-ca (100% must be for cages tactics against special buildings)
-skip (isn't necessary)
P.S. for -dr mode -ur mode is unnecessary

Yea -slb is just a habit we have, but -slt can work as well.

Glad to see most replies have been in favor of the modes I suggested.

Keep voting!

Why so few people has replied? There always about 12 players or more are participating in tournament and no one of them went here to tell what do they think..

People from our server are discussing it in server itself, I just need to make them to do it "officially"(in forum) which is not as easy as it seems... Furthermore, lets try to be patient until weekend, because all cf players gather to the weekly tourneys by then.
Advertise it in your community too and come for some practice until season opening ;]
